Sweet citrus with hints of mandarin, lime, and sugar, a visit to Mt. Kenya in your cup.
It took European explorers nearly 100 years to reach every peak on Mt. Kenya, known among residents of the mountain as The Throne of God. But a Divine reputation could not protect the coffee grown on its slopes from disease, so farmers introduced Bourbon hybrids knowns as SL28 and SL34.
That would be a boring story if it weren’t for the fact that these plants are not only disease resistant, they produce low yields and an outstanding flavor. SL28 is a bright citrus explosion and SL34 is sweet and syrupy, when combined they produce a deeply satisfying and complex coffee that features all the fruitiness you expect in a Kenya with a smooth and silky sweet body.
