Winter

When the weather turns cold we think of soups and meat or things that sit hot and heavy like a blanket on our ribs, cold weather foods that we crave for the way they look and smell as much as how they taste and how they feel in our belly. Coffee is, perhaps, our first and most vital comfort food during cold weather. We wake with a chill and with a blanket over our shoulders we shuffle to the kitchen to start the coffee. What are we hoping for on a cold day?

Dark roasts and blends. On a cold winter morning it is good to remember the fire from the night before with French Roast or Italian Roast. There is a sweetness in smoke that has been adored by coffee drinkers for hundreds of years. Dancing Goats, Organic Whirling Dervish, and Bohemian Blend are all good winter comfort blends.

If there is a time for change, it is spring, when promise and renewal are in the air. We begin to think again about the vegetable garden and the promise of salads and fresh fruit. With our coffee we can cling to the body of winter blends while introducing a little brightness with the herbal Sumatra Mandheling and the spicy Java Estate. We can explore the citrus and nut in our Vesuvio Blend, the nutty spice of Mocha Java, or the sunny and sweet maple notes in La Minita Del Sol from Costa Rica.

Summer

Light clothing and bright coffee. It’s time for the lively fruit notes so prominent in East African coffees. You’ll find a hint of blueberry in our earthy Ethiopian Harar and nectarines and white peach in our Kenya. But summer is not all about Africa. Our organic Costa Rican coffee from Finca Los Bobos features a hint of Bing cherry. And don't forget to try these coffees over ice.

Fall

Time for a sweater as the memory of summer fades and we look toward winter. The holidays of fall come with sweet and savory food. This balance is echoed in some of our favorite Central American coffees, like Organic Nicaragua Isabella, our Guatemala from Finca El Valle in Antigua, and our Organic Mexico Pluma Real. Other sweet and savory fall treats include our Capitol Blend and Skye’s Mountain Blend.Seasonal coffee, winter coffee, seasons for coffee, coffee winter, winter blend coffee, spring coffee flavors, winter coffee flavors, summer coffee flavors, fall coffee flavors, coffee for every season, every season coffee, coffee calendar, coffee exploration - to go cup
