Now you can enjoy the richness of any single origin or blend of coffee at home by grinding immediately before each brew.
With 40 different grind settings the Encore is capable of grinding coffee fine enough for espresso, coarse enough for the French Press, and all other brewers in between.
Making a grind adjustment is easy- simply grip the bean hopper and give it a twist. Finer settings are clockwise, and coarser settings are counter-clockwise.
Grinding large batches of coffee is quick and easy, with a hopper that holds half a pound of beans your coffee-drinking guests will get their fill (and appreciate that rich fresh-ground flavor) long before the Encore gets tired.
Baratza is dedicated to making quality products that are easily serviceable. We like that they make parts and instructions available for easy DIY maintenance well after their one-year warranty.
Baratza's excellent support goes a long ways to extend the service life of this tool, which makes the Encore stand out among the crowd of other entry level grinders.
Fine-tuning your grounds dosage is quick with the instant "Pulse" button positioned right on the front of the grinder.
-When grinding for a home espresso machine, you can grind directly into the portafilter. Remove the grinds bin and make sure to hold the portafilter several inches below the grind chute.
-If you’re grinding a large amount of coffee, you can avoid clogging the grinder by removing the grounds bin once the bin is 2/3 full. Otherwise, the grinds will pile up below the grind chute and become compacted within the burrs.
Cleaning the Encore is easy, and is recommended every month. If your beans are oily, you’ll want to clean more often.
1. Make sure to unplug the grinder.
2. Empty the bean hopper.
Twist the hopper counter-clockwise toward the coarsest setting (number 40) to remove it. You’ll see a friendly rubber gasket hanging out above the burrs just set it aside.
Take out the top burr and clean it gently with a brush or compressed air. The bottom burr should stay in the unit, don’t unscrew the wingnut.
Hold the unit upside-down over a garbage can and brush out the remaining grinds and oils. You can also use a vacuum to pull out the grinds.
Re-assemble in reverse order and then dial the grind back to your favorite setting.
You’ll also want to wipe out the bean hopper and grounds bin with a clean cloth to remove all the oil buildup, especially when switching between different types of beans and roasts.
