Milling
Hulling and Polishing: Coffee is run through a machine using friction to remove the outer shell of parchment or a dried cherry. Sometimes the “silverskin” perisperm is also removed at the same time. Great care needs to be taken with this process since the heat generated from friction can negatively impact cup quality.
